Summary: One day, Koyama realizes, Shige might get taken away from him. But Koyama has a brilliant plan to stop all that.

Koyama was in his last year of teenagedom, and had never rebelled in any way. He was actually a little bit worried about this, because his mother said that all people need to have a rebellious phase, and if Koyama didn't have it now, he'd probably do it later in his 20's, except then it would be worse, because then he could legally drink and smoke and have sex with random girls, and it'd much, much easier to obtain drugs. He was 16 when she first told him this, and he'd cried and cried and told her that he would never do that. It had upset him so much that she'd never brought it up again.
This was all before he fell in love with Shige.

It was a bright April morning, but Kato Shigeaki wasn't outside soaking up the sunshine. He was relaxing in his room, playing video games and making the most of having a day off from high school and from work. As a junior, he obviously didn't have as much work to do as his seniors, but it was still strenuous for him.

He was enjoying the peace and relative quiet, punctured only by typical video game battle sounds coming from his television set, when suddenly the door came flying open, and a panicked and harried-looking Koyama practically fell into his room.
"Shige!" He managed to regain his balance, and stumbled over to where his recently-acquired boyfriend was lying.

Until he'd met Shige, the idea of being gay had never hit Koyama. He'd always assumed that he was straight because he'd had crushes on girls throughout his life, and he'd kissed girls before, and kept magazines of gravure idols under his mattress. But then Shige had come along, with his book smarts and awkward teenage limbs, and all these notions of being an average straight teenage boy had gone flying out the window.

He'd wanted Shige to like him so badly that it made his heart ache, turned him into more of a blabbering idiot than usual whenever Shige was around, he'd been so desperate to impress him that it hurt... Koyama had wanted Shige more than he'd wanted anything or anyone his entire life. And as Shige became more and more attractive to him, and he began to question and challenge his preconceptions about himself, girls began to become less and less interesting. Until finally, those gravure magazines only bored him, and it was only boys that could hold his attention. And above all other boys, Shige was the one that Koyama felt most strongly for.

Of course, Koyama had known that most boys didn't feel like this - not about other boys anyway - and the chances of him being lucky enough for Shige to feel the same were slimmer than Kamenashi Kazuya's skinny body. And so it had taken him 2 whole years to confess. They were both a little drunk at the time he did, because they'd snuck some beer up into Shige's room. They'd been curious to see what it was like after some of the other juniors had boasted about how they'd been drinking and almost got caught, but had managed to hide the bottles in time.

And there had just been something so cute about Shige lying on his back on the bed, giggling about how he could totally see why people liked getting drunk, with his T-shirt riding up and showing a patch of stomach, that Koyama had accidentally told him right then that he had a crush on him.

Shige had stared in wide-eyed disbelief, and after asking Koyama 'Really?' what seemed like 50 times, admitted shyly that he liked Koyama too. Then he'd gone and thrown up in the bathroom. The next morning was a bit awkward, but as the days wore on, they got used to the idea of their secret crushes not being secret anymore. Soon after, Koyama had asked Shige out, and now, two months later, they were dating.
It made Shige really happy to be going out with him, but there were also times when he wondered exactly why he liked his boyfriend so much.

Now was one of those times.
"Um, Koyama...?"
He was going to ask him what he was doing, but Koyama had already flung open his drawers and closet and had started throwing Shige's clothes at him.
"Shige! Shige, where's your suitcase?" He seemed frantic, so instead of asking what was going on, Shige just answered.

"There's a small one in the back of the closet." He said, wondering what on earth they needed a suitcase for.
"Small is perfect!" Koyama replied, and dug it out, then stuffed it full of the clothes he'd pulled out of Shige's dresser. "Get your toothbrush! We won't take anything else!"
"Koyama, why are we..." Shige started to say, but Koyama interrupted him.

"Please, Shige! We need to hurry!" And Shige, though still totally bewildered, did what he was told and went to the bathroom to get his toothbrush. When he brought it back, Koyama snatched it off him, shoved it in the suitcase and closed it. "Okay, grab your wallet!"

As soon as Shige had done so, Koyama snatched up his suitcase, took Shige's hand, and pulled him out the door. He barely had time to shout to his mom, "I'm just going out with Koyama!" before he was dragged outside. Another suitcase was waiting on his front step. Koyama handed Shige's to him before picking up what must have been his own. Then he once again took Shige's hand, and they were off again, running down the road.
"We don't have much time to spare! Hurry!" Koyama yelled, and Shige suddenly felt oddly like he was in a movie - running down the street with a suitcase filled with clothes, with absolutely no idea why, and only his apparently insane best friend to guide him.

Eventually they arrived at the train station, and Koyama pulled Shige onto a train - not just any train, but a bullet train - seemingly only seconds before the doors closed. They found somewhere to stow their bags, and then Koyama led him to some seats and they sat down. Shige was just as baffled as before, but Koyama seemed a lot calmer than before.

"We made it." He said, with a relieved sigh. Then he smiled and patted Shige's hand. "Just on time, ne?"
Shige only stared back at him, eyebrows raised, as the train sped up and the scenery began to fly by. "Um, Koyama... what's going on?"
From the look on Koyama's face, it seemed as though he was surprised that Shige hadn't figured it out yet.

"What's going on?" He repeated, apparently stunned that someone as smart as his boyfriend didn't realize what was happening. "Shige, we're eloping!"
Shige's mouth dropped. "What?!" He almost shrieked. Some of the other passengers sent him dirty looks, but most of them ignored the two boys. "Koyama, we can't elope." Shige said after lowering his voice. "I'm not even 16 yet. And besides, two guys can't even get married."

Now Koyama looked confused instead of stunned. "Who's getting married? We're just eloping, Shige."
"Koyama, eloping usually implies running away to get married." Shige explained patiently. By now, he was used to having to clearly explain simple things to Koyama that he'd misunderstood. Koyama could really be a real ditz at times.
"Ohhh, I see." Koyama chuckled, shaking his head. "Wow, I'm seriously an idiot, aren't I? I didn't plan on getting married. I just planned on running away."
Shige laughed, feeling relieved that Koyama hadn't come up with some half-baked idea of marrying him. His relief lasted for about two split seconds before he realized what Koyama had just said.

"Wait a second. Running away?" He repeated, and his stomach flipped when Koyama nodded. "Um... Koyama, why are we running away?"
Koyama looked at Shige with big sad eyes, and his lip trembled a little.
"Because, if we stay in Tokyo we have to keep our relationship hidden, and we can't even kiss in public or go on real dates, and then if we get found out, you might get taken away from me!"
Shige knew that his mouth was hanging open, but he didn't see fit to close it yet. It was kind of appropriate like this.

"I... you... Koyama." He said, and though Koyama was sure that there was some kind of intelligent meaning behind those words, he didn't quite get it. In the end, Shige chose to stare out the window of the train, watching regrettably as they began to move further and further away from their home.

Eventually he somehow fell asleep, despite the circumstances, and was awoken a few hours later by the feeling of a hand on his shoulder. For a fleeting moment, Shige clung to the hope that maybe it had all been a dream, but when his eyes fluttered open, he saw that they were still on the same train as when he'd closed his eyes, and it was definitely Koyama gently shaking him awake.
"Shige, we're at our stop." He whispered, and Shige fought to keep from crying in frustration.

"Where are we?" He asked, and his heart sunk when the response he received was, "Kyoto."
They stepped out of the train and into Kyoto station, where no one took any notice of the pair of teenage boys with their little suitcases clutched in hand. They walked through town, and then along the riverside, Koyama doing all the talking while Shige was either lost in his own thoughts or listening silently. It was impossible to tell which.
About an hour later, they finally sat down, arms tired from carrying and legs tired from walking without a break.

When they found a place to sit, Shige finally spoke.
"Koyama, I'm kind of hungry."
Koyama smiled at him, glad that he was finally talking again. "Shall we go and find somewhere to eat?"
Shige nodded. "I guess so."
They turned back towards town, dragging their suitcases that seemed to have doubled in weight with them.

"So..." Shige said. "Where are we going to stay tonight?"
Koyama didn't reply.
"Koyama?" Shige said, and repeated, "Where are we staying tonight?"
Koyama smiled at him, a little guiltily. "Um... I didn't think that far ahead."
Shige fell back into silence, and they kept walking. After a while, he asked, "Do you have enough money for a motel or something?"
Koyama nodded, "I think so. I spent about half my money on the train tickets."
Shige stopped in his tracks.

"So, Koyama. Let me get this straight. You brought me to Kyoto with almost no money, almost nothing in our suitcases, without even planning where we were going to stay?"
Koyama said, "Um..." back, which Shige took to mean yes.
"Koyama..." Shige said, slowly. "If you didn't even plan for the first night here, did you plan anything for our futures? Such as shelter, jobs, food, and all the other important things that we're used to living with?"

Koyama chuckled uncomfortably. "Well, actually... I didn't really plan anything. I bought the tickets on the way to your house. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing. I just suddenly realized that I could lose you one day, and I panicked, and... well, it seemed like a good idea at the time."

Shige stared at him incredulously. "Koyama, let me get this straight... we only confessed to each other a few months ago, and you suddenly want to throw your life away to save our 1-month long relationship that isn't even in danger yet? And on top of this, you do it all without even thinking about it?"

It took a while, but Koyama finally nodded, eyes downcast, and face flushed in shame.
"It's... I just... I love you, Shige. A lot."
Shige sighed, took Koyama's hand, and started to walk, dragging him along behind him. This time it was Koyama's turn to ask questions.
"Where are we going?"
Shige rolled his eyes. "The station. To use the other half of your money to buy a ticket back home."

Koyama was practically crying as he purchased the tickets. After that, they bought some boxed lunches at the station with Shige's money to eat during the train ride. Shige even let Koyama feed him discreetly, in an effort to cheer him up.
When they got back, it'd only been dark for about an hour, but they were both very tired already.

Koyama helped Shige unpack, and then bid him farewell to go home and unpack his own stuff.
No one even noticed that they'd been gone.

That? Was really, really cute. Omg so adorable. I love how Koyama's just buys a ticket when he's randomly out and about. And Shige towards the end was bwuahaha. And no one even noticed they were gone. This fic is just so random but I could totally see it happening between those two.
Woaaaaaaah, that was quick!! I hadn't even posted to any comms. AM I EVEN ON YOUR F-LIST. I'M NOT, AM I. WHUT. XD

I was inspired by how little kids like... run away from home when they're angry with their parents, but then go right back again because they get hungry, and no one even knows they went. n.n; It was like that with these guys.
Except Koyama 'ran away' with Shige because he was scared of the agency finding out about their relationship and breaking them up.

;D I'm sure it made sense in his head at the time. He needs a Shige at all times in order to help him with the details when he thinks up dumb schemes like that.
Eh, no, but I do hav it set up that I'm notified everytime this journal is updated (I did that back when you sporadically updated Voices in the Mist), and plus, I'm awake, might as well read fic before I go to sleep.

Yeah, this whole thing totally rang true of that. I think that's what I liked most about it -- the really childish air about it. Koyama and Shige are basically two big kids to me so that's why I can totally see this happening, haha. Psh, it totally made sense to me! I would so pull a Kei-chan if I were in that situation :P. And of course, Shige has to be the sensible one, :).
Ohhh, I see! XD That makes sense.
Haha, well, I'm on a roll with VitM at the moment, so my updates aren't so sporadic. (Hello updates practically every two weeks...)

Koyama and Shige are basically two big kids to me
Haha, aren't they just? I think of them that way too, except I still write NEWS orgy fic (whut), so... yes. I'm not actually sure where I'm going with that point....

:D Shige's the lawyer, so he is required to be sensible~
Oh man, Koyama FAIL. But that's adorable. Really, really adorable. XD
Koyama makes me think "FAIL" a whole lot of the time, except he fails with cuteness, so I'll just assume I've written this right. XD
Just how fast are you?
AMAZING! Again! Really really amazing.
I laughed so hard at this -> "and the chances of him being lucky enough for Shige to feel it were slimmer than Kamenashi Kazuya's skinny body."... XD I don't know why, it was just so funny.

And I love Koyama in this story, he's just all caught up in his ideas and thoughts and Shige drags him back on the ground and to reality and they're just so cute together! I loved it!
<3
I am... quick and slow all at once.
See me take one year to write a single one-shot when I'm not inspired (NOT EXAGERATING). And two days to write it when I am inspired.

XD Kame and Yamapi used to be my favourites before Koyashige so I still like to tease Kame a bit. <3

:D Yeah~ I really imagine Koyama being the, "HOMG LET'S DO THIS!" type and Shige being the, "Koyama, have you considered this and this and this?" type. XD They are cute. That is why they're my OTP. <3
Kame and Yamapi are the reason I got into the fandom ;) I still love them very much, but I can't read fan fiction with them for some reason ^^'

Shige being the, "Koyama, have you considered this and this and this?" type. X

Yeah, totally.. this part of his character is very easy to see ;)
and the chances of him being lucky enough for Shige to feel it were slimmer than Kamenashi Kazuya's skinny body... LOL
So...wow---I feel really bad for Koyama, lol. It seems like he would do something like that...:P
I love how Koyama didn't know the meaning of 'elope,' I think it's really appropriate though:)
And poor Shige...I wanted him to say everything was ok in the end, because Koyama over-worries:P
Very cute, lol:D
I swear me and [info]unfenced_fire are reading this at the same time, but she just beats me to the chase:P
<3
i WIN!
XD This one time Koyama didn't know how to write the kanji (That even *I* know, for goodness sake. It's 3kyuu kanji...) for Completed, so he wrote the kanji for lived instead because they sound the same. So not knowing the connotations of elope? I can see it happening. XD

Haha, Shige's way of saying that everything was okay was to tell Koyama their relationship wasn't even in danger yet. ;D He was too exasperated to be nicer. n.n;
LOL-yea, I listened to the subbed Kei-chan NEWS recently, and he didn't know some average facts; I love him for his brain though:P
Ah I see, make sense:)
I loved reading Shige's J-web because he spent half his time talking about how Koyama failed. <3

"The task lives at Koyama Keiichiro's house. Be careful." "When asked to spell NEWS, Koyama wrote i N-E-U-S. Can't even spell the name of his own group." "This is the guy who everyone applauded when, when asked how to say yellow in English, answered correctly. But then when asked how to spell it, he wrote it y-e-l-l-o-u."

Then there was the time he didn't know what the capital of Germany was, said the capital of France was Peris instead of Paris, and thought that photo synthesizing was breathing in oxygen and putting out carbon dioxide. And his kanji failure is ~*~legendary~*~.
And also the, "...Pa? Go-choki-pa? If P was read Pa, then Yamashita Tomohisa would become YamaPa." "...I said Pa!.... I'm cute. :Dv" exchange was adorable.

I love fail Koyama so much, seriously. Ahh, now I wanna read old J-webs...
OMG-that's hilarious:D
Poor Koyama<3
This is so adorable. ♥♥ I can totally picture Kei being all flaily and worried about losing his Shige then just suddenly decides to run away with him. It's a very Kei thing to do. Then Shige, ever the rational one, had to save them from their little adventure to nowhere. It was so sweet of Shige to let Koyama feed him. He didn't say the things Koyama did, but I'm sure he loves Kei all the same. Gosh, I'm blabbing nao, but yeah, this fic is so sweet. Keep writing Koyashige!!! ^__________^
I'm glad you like!! :)
XD Yeah, Koyama seems as if he'd be the type to panic and run around without stopping to think about stuff first.
<3 Yeah, Shige the voice of reason. He knows how to placate Koyama. ;D
Thanks for reading!!
man i love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU!! XD I love you too!
Koyama is reckless. Shige is the rational one. Those 2 just complement each other so well I wouldn't mind if they just up and eloped <3 After all, they're older now and would probably have a huge stash of cash somewhere to start their happy family XD

No one even noticed that they'd been gone.
XDDDDD

Thank you for the lovely read~
XD They should just run away now instead, when it won't end like they're little kids and come home when they get hungry. n.n;

Yeah~ <3 They're both kinda idiots, but they're idiots in different ways and compliment each other's faults. <3

Love love~~ <3
This is so cute! ♥
Aww, thank you! I'm glad you think it's cute, and thank you for reading it. :)
OH MY GOSH
this was wonderful
something fluffy to make my eyes go dry again
wonderful ♥
:) Thank you!!
I can see Koyama doing something dumb like this. <3 Love him.
